Pictured is a water hyacinth in bloom, one of number of floating aquatic plants you can easily get a hold of. An invasive weed in the south, the more north you go, the more prized they are by water gardeners. If you over winter your fish indoors, they also last a number of months with grow lights - at least until your fish eat all their roots!
